I like whoever has been advising Boehner in the last few days, Boehner seems to have found the ability to humorously take down Obama. Now, follow through and actually get Keystone passed over the veto.

House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) said that if President Obama decides to veto the expected congressional approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, it would be the “equivalent of calling the American people stupid.”

During his weekly press conference with Republican leaders on Tuesday, Boehner urged the Democrat-controlled Senate to seize an “important opportunity” to approve construction of the Keystone pipeline and create jobs before a new Republican majority takes control in January.

“Let’s be clear about this–a Keystone pipeline veto would send the signal that this president has no interest in listening to the American people,” Boehner said. “Vetoing an overwhelmingly popular bill would be a clear indication that he doesn’t care about the American people’s priorities.”

A Pew Poll released on November 13 shows the American people overwhelmingly support construction of the Keystone pipeline by a two-to-one margin.

“[A veto] would be equivalent of calling the American people stupid,” Boehner said.
