An NYPD officer shot and seriously wounded a man in Queens Sunday morning after the suspect attacked him, police said.

Just after 8 a.m., the man lunged at an officer with a box-cutter on Kissena Boulevard at Ash Avenue, police said. The officer fired his weapon and struck the man twice.

The man is now in critical condition at Booth Memorial Hospital. The officer was not injured.
