Via USA Today:
A student opened fire at a high school north of Seattle, injuring several people, then killing himself, police said.
At a briefing, police said they are going through the school to make sure the danger has passed. Police said they believe there was only one shooter.
Police learned of the shooting from a 911 call from someone inside the school at about 10:45 a.m., Pacific time, police said.
The Marysville school district released a statement that says, “the Marysville Pilchuck High School is currently in lock down due to an emergency situation. Police and emergency services have responded.
“The Marysville School District lock down procedures will remain in effect at Pilchuck until further notice from law enforcement,” the statement said. “We will continue to forward communication in cooperation with law enforcement.”
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Marysville police. Neither police agency returned calls for information.
