The Washington Redskins aren’t the only ones with a problematic business name.

Illegal Pete’s, a Colorado-based quick-service eatery known for its oversized burritos, came under fire at a public meeting in Fort Collins from about 30 critics who want the restaurant to remove the word “illegal” from its name, the [Fort Collins] Coloradoan reported this week.

“Social context is hugely important,” Fort Collins immigration attorney and meeting moderator Kim Medina said in the Coloradoan report. “We’ll never get to big issues, such as immigration reform, until we can solve these smaller issues of language.”

Colorado State University assistant English professor Antero Garcia said at the meeting, “This is a place that’s going to instill violence in our community.”
