While casting his ballot in Chicago on Monday, President Obama was given an unusual voting instruction.
“Mr. President, don’t touch my girlfriend,” a Chicago man, later identified by CNN as Mike Jones, quipped as he walked by the pair casting their ballots.
“I really wasn’t planning on it,” Obama shot back with a smile.
Jones’ finance, Aia Cooper, flushed with embarrassment and apologized for her boyfriend.“I am sorry, please excuse him… I can’t believe Mike, he is such a fool,” she said.
Obama joked Jones was “an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason whatsoever” but said the pair would at least have a story for their friends and family.
Obama said to Cooper: “Fortunately, the president was nice about it, so it’s aiight.”
