Former New York City Mayor and liberal mega-donor Michael Bloomberg has dumped a hefty amount of money into a pro-Michelle Nunn Super PAC, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Nunn, a Democrat locked in a tight race for the open Senate seat in Georgia against Republican challenger David Perdue, received the generous support from Bloomberg in the tune of a $350,000 donation to the Georgians Together Super PAC on September 24, 2014. The Super PAC filed organizing papers on February 19, 2014 and has since raised $513,500 this year — this figure includes the donation from Bloomberg. The group is a messaging and media PAC.

On September 22 it was reported the National Rifle Association (NRA) would begin airing TV ads connecting Nunn to Bloomberg. Days later, the massive contribution from Bloomberg rolled into the Super PAC. The NRA launched the $780,000 campaign due to an earlier $5,200 donation from Bloomberg to Nunn — the maximum allowed by an individual.
