A Kurdish friend sends news from Kobani that militants from the Islamic State are now torching homes in conquered areas of the city to foil airstrikes against them.

For whatever reason, the Islamic State believes jet planes can’t see them if they set houses on fire and create clouds of smoke. Can burning cigarettes en-masse be too far behind again?

Maybe they’re sacrificing the houses to their God?
