On Sunday, a community forum on understanding Islam and Muslims will be held in Stravros Hall at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbia.
The Community forum will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1000 Wildwood Avenue.
Recently, in efforts to establish an Islamic state in territory controlled by Syria and Iraq, the extremist terrorist organization, ISIS, have committed many acts of violence including public beheadings.
“With world attention on turmoil in the Middle East, it’s imperative that the general public and members of the Muslim community understand who we are and where we stand on some of these issues grabbing national headlines,” said Imam Omar Shaheed of the Columbia-based mosque, Masjid As-Salaam.
