(MENAFN) – At least three militants were killed while they were planting an improvised explosive device (IED) in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

According to local government officials, the incident took place early yesterday in Maruf district.

The provincial government media office confirmed in a statement that the militants were planting IED in Walki area early yesterday.
