One less jihadi lunatic Canada has to worry about returning home.
HAMILTON, ONT. — A young Hamilton, Ont., man was whisked onto the deadly battlefield of Syria by an underground network of jihadi militants before his frantic family — working with the RCMP and CSIS — could stop him, a family spokesman said Wednesday.
Mohamud Mohamed Mohamud, 20, disappeared in July. Monday, an agent from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service gave his family the news they most feared: it is not official but it seemed he was killed during clashes between Kurdish forces and Islamic State of Iraq & Al-Sham (ISIS) fighters in northern Syria.
“It’s devastating because the family tried. They really did. They did everything they could,” said Hussein Hamdani, a Hamilton lawyer and Muslim community activist asked to act as a spokesman.
