- McDonald’s 42nd Street Between Broadway/8th Avenue
- Demonstrator being arrested
Angered over what they claim is slave wages to do menial jobs fast food workers at one McDonald’s in NYC today walked off their jobs and demonstrated outside the store. Although the majority of those arrested and those demonstrated today are clearly union activists and members of unions, two actual workers were arrested.
The Fight For Fifteen Campaign says workers at fast food franchises make too little to support their families – many argue fast food work is a job, not a career meant to sustain families and pay bills for working parents. Campaign said today it will engage in more acts of what it calls disobedience around NYC and elsewhere at franchises throughout the day.
