Still milking it.

CONNECTICUT, US (September 3, 2014) — Norwich’s Freedom Bell pealed 18 times Friday night – once for every year of Michael Brown Jr’s life in Norwich City Hall.

More than 1,100 miles from where the Ferguson, Mo., teen was fatally shot by police officer Darren Wilson on Aug 9, a gathering of community activists, religious leaders and residents spent an emotional two hours on the steps of Norwich City Hall calling for national harmony and equality.

“Let the Brown family know their unspeakable loss has affected us toward change,” Mayor Deb Hinchey said at the top of the program. […]

Sponsored by the Norwich Branch NAACP, Norwich Area Clergy Association and the Council on American Islamic Relations, several speakers on Friday said despite the confusion surrounding the circumstances of Brown’s death, his loss should be a rallying cry for all those who seek equality and peace.
