Spiritual violence?

Human Rights Campaign is taking a stand against “spiritual violence,” with a petition against a Florida pastor who canceled the funeral of a man who was in a same-sex marriage.
Quoting the New Testament passage in Mark 12, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these,” HRC is challenging Pastor T.W. Jenkins of New Hope Missionary Church in Tampa to “love thy neighbor” instead of resorting to “spiritual violence.”
Jenkins canceled the funeral of 42-year-old Julion Evans after learning from his obituary that he was gay and is survived by a husband. Congregation members felt that it would be incongruent to the Bible’s message to hold the funeral service in its sanctuary. Jenkins agreed.
