A physician at the one remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi argued that those who object to abortion on religious grounds are overlooking the “sacred decision” made by those who go to such clinics. Appearing on MSNBC, Dr. Willie Parker took issue with the “vocal, well-organized numerical minority” who support protecting the lives of unborn babies.
“The fierce opposition to women making this, what for them is a sacred decision, is ever-present in at least every place that I’ve been,” he said. He referred to his role with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which argues that a women’s choice to take the life of her unborn child is “equally sacred.”
