There’s no way this can’t work… or maybe not.

The Hummus Initiative aims to fight against further importation of the hatred of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict into France and other countries outside of Israel and Gaza, especially on social media.
Post a pic of yourself eating hummus on your own wall with the hashtag#hummuselfie and the following manifesto:
“At a time when the Israeli-Palestinian conflict intensifies, we deplore the escalation of violence currently going on beyond the war itself, especially in social media.
Our movement aims to underline the commonalities between the two peoples in war instead of focusing on that which separates them. Hummus is one of those commonalities: in the Middle-East, everyone loves hummus, regardless of their religion, origin or nation. That’s why we chose it as a symbol.
Through our selfies, we seek to counterweight the countless hate messages currently invading the social space. We want to create a space of understanding where a peaceful dialogue can take place, instead of allowing this space to be consumed by the fruitless confrontation.”
Feel free to share your selfies and any content linked with peace, or hummus, or both, on the wall of this page!
