The week winds down with two national political figures attending fundraising events in Chicago: this afternoon First Lady Michelle Obama returns to her hometown, and Friday New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie comes to town.

The first lady will attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Tickets start at $500 per person and scale upward to special donations of $10,000 and $20,000 per couple.

Earlier this month, the First Lady traveled to political fundraising events in Southern California. Her visit to Chicago comes as President Barack Obama is scheduled to wind up a three-day fundraising trip in Los Angeles for the DNC following events in San Francisco and Seattle.
