The leader of Sunni militant group ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who has never made a public appearance and indeed has been whispered to not even exist, made a spectacularly public appearance in Mosul yesterday.

In the video, al-Baghhdadi appeared, dressed in a black turban and robe, the attire of the previous caliph leader in Iraq, and called on followers and Muslims of all kinds to obey him as the Caliph.
