Six people are dead — including a 15-year-old boy — and at least 21 other people have been injured in shootings across Chicago since Friday night, police said.
Most recently, a man was shot to death early Monday in the North Austin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.
The 46-year-old was found with a single gunshot wound to the head about 4 a.m. in an alley in the 4800 block of West Concord Place, police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.
About 7:20 p.m. Sunday, two men were shot — one fatally — in the South Side Hyde Park neighborhood.
The men, ages 34 and 41, were in the 5600 block of South Everett Avenue about 7:20 p.m. when someone walked up and opened fire, police said.
Ovadiyah Chandler, 34, was shot twice in the back of the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:20 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Chandler’s home address was not immediately known.
The other man was shot in the arm and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in “stable” condition, police said.
Both men are documented gang members, police said.
Sunday morning, a male was found shot and killed in a Roseland neighborhood gangway on the Far South Side.
The unidentified male, thought to be in his 20s, was found about 7:40 a.m. in the 11100 block of South Lowe Avenue, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He had a gunshot wound to the chest and was dead when officers arrived at the scene, police said.
Earlier Sunday, a man was found shot to death in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
Stanley Levy, 23, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body at 3:05 a.m. in the 7200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.
Levy, who lived in the 100 block of West 126th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:24 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
