This is the Russian “Mikoyan-Gurevich” aka MG-21 fighter jet. First put into production in 1952 by the then Soviet Union, the jet saw action in Vietnam and was used as a mainstay of the Soviet Union’s air airforce.

To my knowledge (and someone in the comments WILL correct me) the jet has not seen service in Russia since the 1980s at least. So that means at the very worst, ISIS has stolen at jet which is AT LEAST as old as I am if not older.

My guess will be that if they can even figure out how to fly this commie bad boy, its extremely unlikely it’ll fly for very long.  Probably get them from Basra to Baghdad and that’s about it.
