We reported earlier about Hillary Clinton’s comment on Hamas officials being largely “technocrats”.

“I think it’s a holding position,” Clinton said, describing Obama’s stance. “And the reason it’s a holding position is that the makeup of this joint [Fatah-Hamas] enterprise are largely technocrats. They’re academics and they’re business people. They don’t represent sort of, what you might call hard-core Hamas leadership.”

So they’re Hamas-lite? You can be a little Hamas, but not Hamas all the way?

Of course, Hamas has not been silent, and Hamas is suspected in the kidnapping of three Israeli teens, including one who is also an American citizen, Naftali Frankel. I guess kidnapping American citizens like the 16 year old isn’t ‘hardcore’ enough for Hillary.

But perhaps Hillary failed to check her own State Department designation of Hamas? Hamas is a designated terrorist organization, according to the United States State Department, and has been since 1997. It has never been removed. Which means that it was a terrorist organization all during the time Hillary was Secretary of State.

There is no State Department lesser designation for “technocrats”.

Perhaps Hillary should have read the State Department’s website to learn what even her former Department thinks of Hamas…
