Of course she can’t, that would require the ‘hard choice’ of actually making a principled decision, one way or the other.

Here’s one hard choice Hillary Clinton isn’t making: saying “yes” or “no” to whether the U.S. should go ahead with the Keystone pipeline.

“I can’t respond,” the former secretary of state replied when asked the question by Canadian newspaper the Globe and Mail.

Clinton, who as the top U.S. diplomat oversaw State Department reviews of the proposed Canada-to-Texas pipeline, said she couldn’t comment at great length because “it’s been passed on and it wouldn’t be appropriate.”

She says in the interview, published Sunday, the Obama administration is “trying to get it right.”

The State Department said in April it was delaying a review scheduled to end in May, angering supporters of the pipeline, including some Democrats.
