CHARSADDA: A suspected militant was killed when a roadside bomb, he was planting to target a police van, went off prematurely on Khwaja Was Road here on Saturday morning.

Shabqadar police said that the militant was planting a bomb when it exploded prematurely, killing him on the spot. They said that the militant wanted to target a police van.

Police said that the militant fell prey to his own plot. The officials of bomb disposal squad said that eight kilograms of explosives were used in the bomb.
