Fenway Park

Over-the-top fear mongering.

BOSTON – Massachusetts’ junior Sen. Edward Markey received his party’s nomination to run for a full Senate term Friday evening at the State Democratic Convention at Worcester’s DCU Center.

“Eleven months ago, this son of a milkman, the first in his family to go to college, was sworn in as U.S. Senator,” Markey reminded the crowd of Democratic delegates.

Markey said he had spent the year since he was elected in a special election crisscrossing Massachusetts, listening to people’s stories and working to solve their struggles with flood insurance, gun violence, economic troubles and more.

But, Markey repeatedly told the crowd, “We have more work to do.”

“When global warming could put Fenway Park under water and return the Back Bay back to the bay, we have more work to do,” Markey said.
