Check out the redacted documents, indicating they were indeed looking into his reporting on the Bergdahl case. Michael Hastings, the reporter who died in a fiery crash last year, wrote a piece on Bergdahl for Rolling Stone. Bergdahl interviewed Bergdahl’s parents, but he also interviewed others about the evidence indicating Bergdahl deserted.
Were they investigating the case against Bergdahl? Generally speaking, it shouldn’t be their responsibility. Were they trying to find out which soldiers might be talking after the military had tried to gag them? Or was the focus more on Hastings?
