A prominent Democratic activist in 2012 compared Republican Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback to a Nazi, according to a newly released book.
Leonard Zeskind, president of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights, called Brownback “‘Gov. Brownshirt,’ and called the liberal struggle against the tea party a ‘second civil war,’” according to Politico reporter Ken Vogel.
Zeskind made the comments at a post-election gathering of the Democracy Alliance, a secretive liberal dark money outfit. Vogel attributed the anecdote, relayed in his new book Big Money, to “sources who were there.”
