A recent CBS News Poll of registered voters found that the people believed Republicans more likely to to a better job on the economy, foreign policy, the deficit and taxes than Democrats would.

On the other hand, the voters believe Democrats were more likely to “care about your needs”, “help ensure that all Americans have a fair chance to get ahead”, “do a better job on health care”, and “do a better job on the environment”. Notice a concentration more on “feeling that someone cares”, rather than actually demonstrable achievements.

In an election focused on economy, anti-Obamacare and troubles overseas, Democrats are, in the words of Harry Reid, in “deep trouble” in the coming elections.
