Jack Hyer, 22, went out with Rebecca Strellnauer for the first time, as a freshman, in September 2010 — and knew right away she was the one, the Daily Mail reported.
Shortly after the date, the college Casanova began filming an elaborate video in which he lip-synched the song — about being in love, despite distance — in dozens of countries across the globe.
