TV cop Michael Jace was arrested for fatally shooting his wife in Los Angeles, police said Tuesday.

The Paterson, NJ-born actor, best known for his work in the cop drama “The Shield,” called police Monday to say he had shot wife April Jace, 40.

When officers arrived at their Hyde Park home at about 8:30 p.m., she was already dead.

The couple had been married for nine years and have two young children.

TMZ reported that both kids witnessed their dad pull the trigger, before he called 911 to say: “I shot my wife.”

The 911 dispatcher kept Jace on the phone until police arrived, TMZ reported.

The 50-year-old Jace played police officer Julien Lowe in “The Shield.” His character was a devout Christian, whose faith was often at odds with his own homosexuality and the less-than-moral behavior of his co-workers.
