Flash mob? Is this type of crime better than the smash and grab?

D.C. police are trying to identify people involved in a “flash mob” theft of a convenience store in Northeast Washington, and they are asking the public for information that can lead to arrests.

Police have released surveillance video showing a steady stream of people suddenly walking into a store in the 4400 block of Benning Road NE.

The suspects grabbed snacks and merchandise off the shelves, then fled, police said. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m., April 14.
