New York Governor Andrew Cuomo attempted to frame his opponent in this year’ mid-term election, Rob Astorino, as a bigoted racist who’s racism rivals that of pre-civil rights era racism.
In a recently released attack ad, Cuomo quotes a New York Times article which states “Die-hard resistance to civil rights laws didn’t work out for the South half-a-century ago, and it won’t work now.” The ad also claims that Astorino is “so far right he is wrong for New York”
Astorino responded with force in a video of his own, and the accusation was based on a dispute over housing according to the New York Daily News.
