In 2011, the New York Times described Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi as “one of the most influential conservative clerics in American Islam”. He has a degree from Yale, and according to Wikipedia, teaches in the Religious Studies Department of Rhodes College, in Memphis. Qadhi is also one of the founding members and Islamic specialists at, a webzine for American Muslims.

Qadhi was a participant in the U.S. Counter-Radicalization Strategy conference organized by the National Counterterrorism Center in summer 2008.

Yet, here he is, in a recording of one of his lectures, seemingly advocating that you may take the life and property of Christians and other non-Muslims, because they are filth.

Would love to hear the explanation for this one.
