At the end of the day I should thank the boys at Revolution Muslim (who are all in prison) for getting me fired from a dead end job I hated, I now get to blog for a living. Oh, and don’t drop the soap!

A New Jersey man who prosecutors say used his organization’s Islamic Web site to advocate violence against those whose ideals he found offensive to his religion — indirectly inspiring or encouraging several terrorist plots — is scheduled to be sentenced Friday in federal district court in Alexandria.

Prosecutors have asked that Yousef al-Khattab, 45, face three years in prison, arguing that he and the organization he helped found, Revolution Muslim, encouraged online followers to commit violence.

Although Khattab stepped back from Revolution Muslim’s day-to-day activities in 2009, prosecutors wrote, his actions “set in motion a sequence of events that — in the hands of [others] — spiraled into even more serious criminal activity.”

“All of us live in a world that was changed for the worse by the brazen nature of Al-Khattab’s internet posts,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Gordon D. Kromberg wrote in a court filing. “Those posts will be preserved on-line forever. His punishment should be based on the recognition that the world is populated by too many people who will heed what he said then, rather than anything that he may say now.”
