PORTLAND (AP) — An advisory board has recommended dumping Cover Oregon as a one-stop portal for health insurance enrollment and joining the federal health exchange. A final decision is expected Friday at 10 a.m.
The committee was tasked Thursday with deciding whether it would be more cost effective to ditch the glitch-filled portal and replace it with the federal website, or try to fix the existing system with the help of a new contractor.
The recommendation to drop Cover Oregon came nearly seven months after the exchange was supposed to go live so that residents could use it to compare and buy health insurance plans.
