After several years of spoofing Al Sharpton‘s MSNBC show performance, SNL‘s Keenan Thompson finally got to add a new spin on the character: 1980s Sharpton, the FBI informant.
Shaft-like action show Undercover Sharpton features a younger Sharpton with long hair and a penchant for talking loudly and fumbling his way through a sting operation. The sketch was surprisingly clever for its relegation to the latter portion of SNL‘s 90 minute (typically where bad sketches go to die)
