Run, Barbara, run!
Via Daily Surge:
Remember when California Senator Barbara Boxer suggested that Hobby Lobby and other private companies were sexist because they object to certain forms of birth control that they consider abortifacients but allegedly don’t object to covering Viagra and other drugs that treat erectile dysfunction?
No, seriously, that was an analogy that Boxer actually used in a national television appearance the day the Supreme Court heard oral arguments challenging the government’s contraception mandate:
“I have never heard Hobby Lobby or any other corporation…complain that Viagra is covered in many insurance plans, in practically all of them, or other kinds of, you know, things for men which I won’t go in to.”
The comparison was so absurd that even an MSNBC (!) host interrupted Boxer to make the painfully obvious point that there aren’t the same moral objections to Viagra that there are to birth control, particularly those forms that are believed to induce abortion.
