Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who heads the archdiocese of San Francisco where House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) , a Catholic, resides, said that Catholics who are “dissenting from a defined Church teaching” in “a serious way,” must not receive Holy Communion.
Last fall, Cardinal Raymond Burke, the chief justice at the Vatican, said that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi must be denied Communion because of her longstanding support for abortion. He also said, “ I fear for Congresswoman Pelosi if she does not come to understand how gravely in error she is.”
Last Thursday, March 27, Rep. Nancy Pelosi was honored by Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, with the Margaret Sanger Award, an honor named for a woman who advocated eugenics and described too many children as “human weeds.”
