Leland Yee was the third embarrassing corruption arrest or conviction for Democrats in California this year.
Via CommDigiNews:
WASHINGTON, March 27, 2014 – For the third time in a year, a liberal California Democratic legislator has been arrested on corruption charges. Senator Leland Yee was arrested and charged with bribery and corruption. In early 2014, Senator Rod Wright was convicted on multiple charges. Wright represented Inglewood, an offshoot of Los Angeles.
One month ago, Senator Ron Calderon was arrested on several bribery and corruption charges. Calderon is also a Los Angeles politician.
Now in the latest rivalry between the two cities, San Francisco has decided to challenge Los Angeles. Senator Leland Yee represents the wealthy enclaves of San Francisco and San Mateo.
While corruption knows no ideology, it is more than a coincidence that liberal Democrats in very progressive areas are the ones who keep getting accused of breaking the law. In California, Democrats control everything. The Democratic Party’s veto-proof majority gives them absolute power.
