Andrew Breitbart died in the early hours of March 1, two years ago. He was a light and a prodigy to many, and had an incomparable effect on the nature of blogging and the Conservative movement.

Defend and I came to know Andrew Breitbart because of the work we did following and reporting on the Occupy movement. Indeed one of the last tweets to Andrew on the night he died two years ago is Defend sending him Occupy info.

Andrew inspired and amused us. But more, he believed in the ability to be able to change the pattern, and the worth of the citizen journalist in that endeavor.

And that is why we’re here, with great gratitude to Zip, who carries the banner high, and who every day exemplifies that spirit.
