WASHINGTON — Democratic National Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Monday it might take a couple of elections until the GOP realizes its agenda has been rejected by the American people, punting on the likelihood of her party re-taking control of the U.S. House of Representatives after the fall elections.
“We’re going to have to have another election. We might have to have a couple of elections until it’s clear to, at least from my perspective, the Republicans, the path they’ve chosen — the path of extremism, the path of doing nothing but obstructing the president’s ability to get stuff done and choosing not to work with him — is going to be rejected by the American people,” Mrs. Wasserman Schultz said on CNN’s “New Day.”
“But in the meantime, we need to keep trying. We need to keep showing how we would move the country forward if we had willing partners to sit down and work things out,” she said.
