They certainly have a lot of faith in the DNC’s lame “war on women” schtick.

Via Politico:

A coalition of advocacy groups wants to make the next front in the “war on women” all about immigration reform.

The new strategy, unveiled Wednesday, is yet another tactic from pro-reform groups to pressure House Republicans to pass immigration reform this year — and punish them if they don’t. And the activists believe that focusing on the influence of female voters could crack the Capitol Hill stalemate on immigration reform.

“Unless we actually have action from House leadership … to move a bill forward … we will continue to push and push and push and make sure that women voters in November understand exactly who has blocked immigration reform,” said Pramila Jayapal, chairwoman of We Belong Together, a coalition of women’s groups aimed at mobilizing women in favor of immigration reform.

The women’s strategy is three-fold: A series of protests and fasts involving more than 5,000 women nationwide timed to International Women’s Day on March 8; mobilizing female voters to the polls in the midterm elections; and building a base of female activists among both immigrant and non-immigrant women.

Jayapal said her group has done an analysis of congressional districts and states where the women’s vote could play a definitive role and where immigration reform could become a key political issue in November — and groups will eventually focus on mobilizing female voters in those areas. She declined to disclose the specific target districts, saying that information will be released soon.

Among the 60-plus organizations involved in this effort are YWCA USA, the Gamaliel Foundation, the Service Employees International Union, and the Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.
