This just in from the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” department: Students at the University of Arizona have been assigned to plan a school-wide “Condom Olympics” for their “Sex, Health, and AIDS” class.

The objective of the class is to “explore this social and disease phenomenon from a number of perspectives.”

According to The Daily Wildcat, the official UA student newspaper, students planned “athletic events” such as a condom-wrapped egg toss, condom art, and a condom scavenger hunt. (Far be it from me to suggest that “athletic events” involving condoms connotes an entirely different image.)

The purpose of the Condom Olympics, according to UA Professor William Simmons?

“Hopefully this will get students comfortable knowing what condoms are.”
