Joe Scarborough, the co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” said Wednesday that he’s considering a White House bid in 2016.

“I won’t rule anything out. I’ve always said and I’ve always been open about the fact that the greatest job I ever had and the greatest honor I’ve ever had was being in the House of Representatives,” the former Florida congressman said on Hugh Hewitt’s radio program when asked if he had ruled out a presidential campaign.

“It was an absolute thrill, and I had to get out because I had young children to raise and I wanted to be back home in Pensacola,” the 50-year-old Scarborough said. “I’ve always said I wanted to get back in. It’s just a matter of time. We’ll see what happens.”

Scarborough, who represented Florida’s 1st Congressional District as a Republican from 1995 to 2001, has mused before about a possible bid. In 2012, Vanity Fair reported that he planned to pen a memoir that would allow him to test the waters for a 2016 presidential run.
