Following up on a report released last week, three Republicans on the House Ways and Means committee have sent a letter to the Internal Revenue Service calling for an investigation into the tax-exempt status of AARP.

Authored by Reps. Wally Herger, R- Calif., Dave Reichert, R-Wash., and Charles Boustany, R-La., last week’s report highlighted the fact that though it’s considered a non-profit, roughly 60 percent of its revenue comes from its for-profit insurance business.
