President Barack Obama had so much trouble connecting with college students during his trip to the Wolverine State Friday to promote the newly-signed Farm Bill that he nearly compared himself to a bunch of pigs.
The president was speaking at Michigan State University when he made the hilarious comment.
“Some [Michigan State University] students are even raising their own piglets on an organic farm,” he said. “When I was in college I lived in a pigsty, but I didn’t work in one. I’m impressed by that. That’s no joke by the way. Your hygiene improves as you get older.”
Unfortunately for Obama, farm references weren’t the only things he bungled during that speech. America learned quite embarrassingly that the president doesn’t know how to pronounce the word “ramen” – as in ramen noodles, a popular delicacy of many college students. He also compared the new law to Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout, a rather unpopular baseball star in Michigan because he is often in competition for the league’s top honors with the Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabera.
