A terminal at LaGuardia Airport was temporarily evacuated after a report that smoke was coming out of a bag on Tuesday, a Port Authority spokesman told the AP.
Emergency workers rushed to the scene and began clearing the area after ramp workers at Terminal C reported the suspicious package just before noon, the spokesman said.
