Please, don’t.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will host a fundraiser in Washington, D.C., in late January, suggesting that he hasn’t decided against a run for reelection in 2016.

An invitation from “Friends of John McCain” bills a Jan. 28 fundraiser at Johnny’s Half Shell in Washington as the senator’s “first DC re-elect reception.” Requested donations range between $1,000 and $5,200, according to BuzzFeed.

During a recent interview on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” McCain said he is still “looking very seriously” at a sixth Senate run.

“I think there is a lot going on. I’m at the top of my game so I’m very happy to have the chance,” McCain told Leno. In the same interview, he said he likes New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) as candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
