Five people from Jersey City, including two 16-year-olds, have been charged in the robbery and assault of a Monmouth County woman who was unloading groceries in front of her home, authorities said.
The 32-year-old victim was outside her vehicle in the Belford section of Middletown at 9:10 p.m. on Jan. 4 when she was approached by two men and a 16-year-old boy, while a woman and a 16-year-old girl waited in a car nearby, Middletown police said.
The two men and the boy grabbed the woman’s wallet from her purse, threw her to the ground and then fled in a black Nissan Maxima, according to police.
