For a Progressive, the “crisis of inequality” means to take from the rich. Does it ever actually mean eliminate poverty or advance the poor? No. But at least the rich will be taxed and regulated more!
He’s going to “require big developers to build affordable housing”? Looks like we have an Imperial Mayor to go with our Imperial President.
Watch the Tyranny of Regulation descend upon NYC; you thought Nanny Bloomberg was bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Mayor de Blasio vowed to take New York City in “a new progressive direction,” telling a crowd of 5,000 gathered Wednesday for his inauguration at City Hall: “We won’t wait. We’ll do it now.”
De Blasio ticked off a number of campaign pledges he promised to fulfill.
“We will require big developers to build more affordable housing. We’ll fight to stem off hospital closures,” he said.
“And we’ll expand community health centers into neighborhoods in need, so that New Yorkers see our city not as the exclusive domain of the One Percent, but a place where everyday people can afford to live, work and raise a family,” he added. “We won’t wait. We’ll do it now.”
The 109th mayor devoted a sizable portion of his inaugural address to a pitch for taxing the wealthy to fund full-day pre-K and after-school programs.
