Two bombs hit a hotel housing the newly elected Somali president, only two days after Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was elected to the post, Press TV reports.

The incident happened on Wednesday outside the main entrance of the Jazeera hotel in Mogadishu where Somali’s president was meeting Kenya’s foreign minister.

Somali official, speaking on condition of anonymity told Press TV that the president is safe but at least 5 people including two Somali troops were killed in the attack.

Al-Shabaab fighters have claimed responsibility for the attack, the official added.
