For those of you who don’t know what it’s like to have a real leader, someone who has a backbone, who doesn’t mince words, here is Ronald Reagan speaking both for the Polish people of 1981, and for Christmas.

It was with the help of Ronald Reagan and the strongly anti-communist Pope John Paul II, both of whom had been shot, but survived assassination attempts that year, that the people of Poland won out, and ultimately, the Soviet Union was defeated.

Reagan never “led from behind”, but was always a light of conviction going out ahead, to help clarify the way.
